Serena Williams recently jetted off to Miami to celebrate her upcoming wedding to fiance Alexis Ohanian with a fun-filled bridal shower. The pregnant tennis superstar was joined by 20 of her closest friends, including her mother and sisters.
PEOPLE reported that Serena enjoyed the celebration at 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach over the weekend. Event planner Val Vogt of VLV Group told the publication that the bridal shower was meticulously planned out. "The shower really reflected Serena's girlie and detail-oriented personality," he shared. "There were lots of surprises for her throughout the weekend." A friend of Serena added, "It was a really magical weekend with a lot of love for Serena."
According to Us Weekly, Serena kicked off the celebration with a group breakfast on Saturday, May 6, completed with an omelette bar, green juices and gluten-free breads. They later joined a yoga and meditation class on the rooftop pool deck, before getting pampered with foot massages in an air-conditioned poolside cabana at the hotel's Bamford Haybarn Spa.
Serena then hopped on a private yacht with her pals and family for a relaxing cruise around Miami. When the group returned to the hotel, Serena's friends had covered her luxurious "Retreat Collection" suit with bridal-themed decorations, including custom-made pinata of her in a Nike tennis dress and her fiance. A source said that her pals gave her stuffed animals as a gift at the end of the Saturday night party.
The 35-year-old Grand Slam champ seemed to enjoy her vacation as she took to Instagram to share a funny pic from her visit to Disney's Pandora: World of Avatar in Orlando, Florida. "Had the best time at Disney, Pandora was unreal!!#visitpandora," so she captioned the photo.
